Summary: This year marks the IV Centenary of the birth of Sr. María de Jesús de Agreda (1602-1665), an outstanding master of the spiritual life and of mystical experience. Her work “Mística ciudad de Dios” or “Vida de la Virgen”, is a model of narrative Mariology. She describes a path departing from the eternal designs of the Trinity and moving through the History of Salvation, stressing within the rich symbolism of her language the singular relationship of Maria with the Divine Persons. Trinitarian Mariology finds one of its best expressions in this work from among the theologians of the XVII century.
