This October 27 we celebrate 30 years of the “World day of prayer for peace” convened by Pope John Paull II in Assisi. The meeting symbolically showed that religions could play a key role in laying the foundations of peaceful coexistence in the globalized world. This pioneering initiative gave rise to what has been called "The Spirit of Assisi," which promotes world peace through interfaith dialogue and prayer. This lecture focuses on that topic, especially now that Pope Francis is enthusiastically promoting it again. Only some days ago, on spet 20, he visited Assisi for a new edition of the
World of prayer for Peace.
