On August 4, 2019, prof.
Martín Carbajo Núñez will give two talks at the auditorium of St. Elizabeth parish, Oakland (1500 34th Avenue, Oakland, Ca 9461). The meeting is organized by the OFS council, which celebrates its annual day of recollection. Prof. Carbajo will give two talks on these topics:
1) “Everything is connected: :”Family life, Fraternal Relationships & Integral Ecology (10:15am)
2) The Spirit of Assisi: the contribution by religions to Peace (2:15pm)
These topics respond to two big ecclesial events this year that the Franciscan Tradition can illuminate:
1) The Synod of the Amazonia and
2) The celebration of 1219 meeting of Francis of Assisi with the Sultan.
Accordingly, the first talk will be focused on the encyclical Laudato Si' (+ the preparatory document for the Synod) and the second on dialogue from a Franciscan perspective.
