On June 9, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Prof.
Martín Carbajo Núñez will speak on the theme: "
Leadership in a Franciscan Perspective" at a meeting organized by the I
nternational Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) in Rome from June 8 to 11, 2023.
IFCU represents a network of 240 Catholic universities worldwide. Its mission is to facilitate inter-university and international cooperation, as well as to be a space for reflection and a community of mutual support and exchange of experiences in the service of the third mission of the Catholic University.
Nicolas Vergier, IFCU's partnerships manager, acknowledges that, in daily contact with Catholic universities and their management teams, the IFCU has observed that the health crisis has tipped the world, and in particular the world of higher education, into a new era of uncertainty as well as opportunity. Consequently, the internal resources of Catholic university leaders are critical.
In the face of these profound changes, the search for meaning takes on ever greater priority, and today it is this that must fuel the actions that the IFCU carry out within a university. Hence the need for rectors of Catholic universities to be a spiritual leader even before being a "business leader" caught up in a whirlwind of activities.
