Summary — Reviewing and describing the events that preceded and followed the promulgation of this other document addressed against the Jansenists, the author reveals a very symbolic episode concerning the difficult relations existing between the Holy See and the French bishops on account of Gallicanism and the unjust persecution inflicted on the Jansenists. The article treats substantially of a delusive text which, among other things, did not succeed to attain its aim of gaining a conspicuous victory over the « heretics ».
