Summary: The Catholic Church is celebrating 150 years of the dogmatic declaration of the immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary. The article reviews the theological arguments for this doctrine offered by the mystical writer María Agreda, in her 1657 book Mystic City of God. The line followed in this work connects with the contemporary call for a “via pulchritudinis”.
