SUMMARY: In the last years before the fatal defeat of Hattin (1187), the influence exerted by the Military Orders grew enormously in the crusading kingdom of Jerusalem. Through the deeds of Roger Des Moulins, magister of the Order of the Hospital, we may examine the single, ineluctable stages of the final crisis of Latin power in the Levant before the triumph of Saladin.
